We don’t just operate - we also do this.

At Vascular Specialists LLC, our physicians know that having a vascular specialist in your health care corner is about much more than a life-changing surgery.

While many of our patients come to Dr. Tanquilut, Dr. Pradhan and Dr. Coffey because of sudden health challenges or disease progression, we are also the perfect place for disease prevention as well.

Just like you see a primary care physician for annual well check ups, when you have risk factors for vascular disease, it’s a healthy idea to begin seeing us too, to prevent disease as much as possible. Many vascular conditions are genetic, affecting those whose parents or siblings have experienced the conditions. These vascular conditions include:

Besides family history, there are other risk factors for vascular disease:

In fact, in the case of AAA, if you are over age 65 and have either smoked more than 100 cigarettes in your lifetime or have a family history of AAA, Medicare will cover a simple and non-invasive AAA screening. Without a screening, an AAA can go undetected until a rupture, which causes massive internal bleeding that is usually fatal.

When your Vascular Specialists provider finds no evidence of aggressive disease, our efforts will turn to prevention of AAA and other vascular conditions, helping you lower your blood pressure, quit smoking, control your diets, increase exercise and improve your menu for better health. If AAA is found, Dr. Tanquilut, Dr. Pradhan and Dr. Coffey will consider all options for treatment, including monitoring the growth of the aneurysm to determine if intervention is even necessary.

Surgery is only part of our story here at Vascular Specialists in Tinley Park. Dr. Tanquilut, Dr. Pradhan and Dr. Coffey help prevent disease, diagnose disease and manage disease with medications, interventions or lifestyle alteration assistance.

Your Vascular Specialists provider is your partner when you are at risk for vascular disease. Prevention now means a high quality, healthy life in the future.
